Title: Leading IT Transformation: The Roadmap for

Oullette & Associates is a consulting firm that’s been around for a couple of
decades. Nine consultants from the company contributed to this book. Each
took on a chapter. It makes for a bit of a choppy read at times, but the content
more than makes up for the occasional lack of flow.
The authors don’t prescribe any silver bullets. Rather, they stick to the basics.
In addition, they focus on “the human side of technology” which is so often
neglected in IT shops and absent in IT training programs. So, in addition to
tackling the fundamentals of project management, they address topics such
as the importance of negotiation, evolving into the role of a consultant, and
even marketing the value of IT. These are foreign concepts to many in IT and
the skills are frequently lacking. The authors provide tips and frameworks to
assist.
There is no doubt that if the suggestions in this book are followed,
improvement and yes, maybe even transformation will occur.
